Our name is inspired by the magnificent Vitória-Régia (Victoria amazonica), the iconic giant water lily of the Brazilian Amazon. In Portuguese, Vitória means victory and Régia means royal, together conveying the idea of Royal Victory. The plant was also named Victoria amazonica in honor of Queen Victoria, reflecting its majestic beauty and grandeur.
Celebrated as one of the most treasured symbols of the Amazon, the Vitória-Régia represents beauty, strength, resilience, renewal, and the harmony of nature. Its remarkable leaves can grow up to 10 feet in diameter, making them among the largest floating leaves in the world.
Its extraordinary flower blooms only at night, opening in brilliant white before transforming into a vibrant pink the following evening, a breathtaking reminder that nature is constantly renewing itself. On its first night, it releases a sweet tropical fragrance, often compared to pineapple, attracting the beetles that pollinate it.
For us, the name is also deeply personal.
As children growing up in Brazil, both of our founders cherished visits to lakes covered with magnificent Vitória-Régia water lilies. We were captivated by their enormous floating leaves and spectacular flowers, often imagining what it would be like to sit on one of those giant leaves beside its beautiful bloom. We still remember the delicate fragrance of the flowers and the sense of wonder they inspired.
Years later, while sharing childhood memories, we discovered that we both carried these same unforgettable experiences. In that moment, we knew our spa had found its name—a heartfelt tribute to one of the most beautiful symbols of our childhood, our homeland, and the Brazilian Amazon.
